JAMMU, Oct 12:: Finally, a professionally run cricket academy has reached Jammu to train the young and talented stuff. The facility under the name and style of Sehwag Cricket Academy was formally inaugurated by the cricketer himself in a well attended function at the premises of Heritage School in the outskirts of the city, here. "Though I have not played in any academy, still I feel the professional training is a must for the young cricketers to groom as future stars. It was an opportunity for me to open an academy in small but growing cities. Jammu has no dearth of talent but lacks proper infrastructure and facilities, so we want to fill the gap," said Sehwag on the sidelines of the function. The academy has promised experienced trainers and allied facilities at the Jammu academy with frequent visits by the legendary cricketer, including Virender Sehwag. "Since, Academy carries my name, it will be my responsibility to produce international stuff. We need to fill up the gap between talent and performance," said Sehwag. Earlier, Sehwag shared his experienced with the young cricketers in the day-long camp. As promised, Sehwag also presented a special gift to one of the campers for bowling him out. Meanwhile, the Academy also divulged the future plans of the Academy as part of its curriculum. The programme includes taking the talented boys aboard for club tournaments so as to provide them the needed exposure.
