Several educational institutions celebrate Gurupurab

Jammu, Nov 5: On the eve of birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji today several educational institutions today celebrated the occasion by organizing functions.
To promote national integration and communal harmony, the NSS unit of Government College of Education celebrated 'Gurupurab' in the college premise. Principal of the College Prof (Dr.) Ajeet Angral addressed the students and spread the message of harmony and oneness which reminded the message of Guru Nanak Dev JI. During the celebration B.Ed students presented 'Shabd', thereafter 'langar' was organized in which 'prasad' was distributed to all faculty members and students. To grace the occasion Mohinder Singh, Principal, DIET, Jammu gave his august presence along with his staff members.
Management of Vinayak Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences, Kunjwani campus organized Gurupurab Festival (Birthday Celebration of Guru Nanak Dev ) founder of Sikhism with great fervour, devotion and enthusiasm.
The function started with Ardas & Singing of hymns from Shri Guru Granth Sahib. Chairman of Institute Amardeep Singh, elaborated the philosophy and teaching of Guru Nanak Dev ji, Guru Nanak Dev ji philosophy mainly stressed upon one God-who is creator, sustainer and Destroyer, rejection in all forms of blind rituals, superstitions, Naam Marg ; emphasizes daily devotions to remembrance of God, Over coming of five Cardinal vices are Kam (lust), Krodh (anger), Lobh (greeed), Moh (wordly attachment) and Ahankar(pride) and also goal of human life is to break the cycle of birth's and death to merge with God.
The Philosophy of Guru Nanak also emphasized on Seva, community service is the Integral part of Sikhism. The function is organized under the supervision of Ms. Gurveen Kour Sasan.
Euro care pre school trikuta nagar today celebrated the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the School premises.
They celebrated the birth anniversary with fervor and gaiety during the special assembly. Principal of the School while addressing said," All religions lead us to universal god, May he bless u on Gurupurab and always".
The students sang the rhymes describing his glory and spoke about his life in short. Children also visited Gurudwara to seek the blessings of almighty . Celebrations of such festivals in school, teach the students to respect all religions and make them feel the unity in diversity.
Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, today, celebrated 'Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Birthday with great fervor and religious gaiety under the supervision of worthy Managing Director, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak.
The programme started with Shabad Kirtan and Verses from Guru Granth Sahib Ji enchanted by the students of the school under the guidance of Sanjay Lalathia (Head Master) Inderpreet Kour and Chandan. The students of Primary wing dressed up as Panj Pyaras enchanted slogans : Raj Karega Khalsa, Jo bole So Nehal Satsri Akal etc.
Principal , Davinder Koul threw light on the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and inspired students to follow the path given by him.
Guru Nanak Dev's Jayanti is a Sikh festival that commemorates the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev. It is a religious celebration in which prayers for prosperity are offered.
A special assembly was conducted by Stephens International Public School in which the students presented kirtan and the Panj Pyaras recited the mool mantar.The children were dressed in Punjabi attires and looked very impressive.The school's Director Mrs Satvinder Saini wished everyone happy Guru Purab.The students were also enlightened about the historical background of Guru Nanak Dev.
Kartar Public School, Barnoti, Kathua celebrated 546th Birthday Of Shri Gurunanak Dev Ji in the premises of Kartar Public School, Barnoti S.Charanjeet singh President DGPC kathua was the chief guest on the occasion and Er. Nirmaljit singh Amn Chairman Kartar Educational Trust,Barnoti Presided.
While speaking on the occasion S.Charanjeet singh said that Guru Nanak Dev ji took birth in the time when social evils like on touch ability hatredness in the name of caste,creed and colour,massacres on conversion of religions were everywhere .
A special assembly was held on the eve of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Birth Anniversary in the premises of JK Public School, Kunjwani with religious fervor.
The life history and preaching's of Guru Nanak were highlighted. A shabd kirtan was also organized by the students.
The little ones of Toddlers' World too celebrated the occasion with great enthusiasm. The children chorused the 'Mool Mantra' with devotion as a mark of respect to Guru Nank Dev ji. Prashad was distributed among the children and staff. Being disciples of universal love and the belief in the practice of virtuous deeds the message of the Guru was felt and revered.
A Seminar on the topic "The Ideology of Guru Nanak Dev and today's Society" organised by District Gurdwara Prapandak Committee and Ranjit College of Education today in the Sensorium Auditorium, RCE, Kunjwani Jammu.
According to press release, Giani Kewal Singh, former Jathedar of Anandpur Sahib Punjab was the Chief Guest and S. Daleep Singh presided over the function. S. Manmeet Singh, Chairman, Ranjit Educational Trust, S. Manjeet Singh General Secretary DGPC were also present in the presidium.
Kewal Singh, while addressing the audience said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji born in the time when humanity was brutally murdered and un-touchabality, in humanity and massacres in the name of caste, creed, colour and religion have taken place everywhere.
Ahead of Prakash Utsav of first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev ji Jammu Sanskriti School Celebrated Gurupurab by organizing a special assembly.
Students and teachers presented holy Shabad Prabhjot Singh of class VI spoke about the teaching of Shri Guru Nanak Devi ji with message of unity and harmony. Rohini Aima Principal cum Vice Chairperson apprised the students about the teachings and life of Guru Nanak Dev ji & said to follow the path of universal brotherhood and peace. She conveyed her greetings to all the staff, students and their parents on the occasion of Guruparv.
DRS kids international School Vijaypur celebrated guru Nanak s Birthday today in the school principal students cut the cake on this celebration and teacher distributed sweets among the students after that students due to Guruduwara and goin knowledge about the importance of this day the programmer ueas organized by school management committee and with the cooperation of the parents the principal Rajni choudhary said it is our active to give educational as wel as religious know ledge to the students the children very enthusiastically participated in the celebration with the teacher.
