Reasi, July 24: The anti polythene campaign of 'WE CARE' NGO in collaboration with Municipal committee and district administration Reasi entered into 5th day. The 45th day campaign was commenced from Bus Stand Market in the presence of Tehsildar Sheshpal, Naib Tehsildar Suraj Singh, Pollution Officer and MC Reasi officer Madan Lal, chairman we care NGO Jugal Magotra, General secretary Anand Raina and other active members of we care NGO. The campaign gone through the area of Ram gali, Mandir, Chowk Chabutra, Main Bazar Reasi and the campaign ended near Ram Leela ground main bazar reasi. The officials and NGO members interacted with the shopkeepers, makeshift stall owners and passersby over the pollution issue. They explained the harmful effects of polythene like environment degradation to people. During the campaign, tehsildar and pollution officer warned everybody of being charged with heavy fine if seen using Polythene. "To develop Reasi as polythene and pollution free city, we use every mode of communication to run an effective anti-polythene awareness campaign among the masses," said Jugal Magotra NGO president. He appealed the locals been appealing to locals to ban the use of polythene as being a major pollution problem. Free jute bags were also distributed to the shopkeepers and general public by the NGO, pamphlet were also distributed to the people of reasi to generate awareness among the others. MC Reasi employees, Kamal suri, Bodh Raj, Manu Singh, Naresh Sharma , the Ngo members, Varun Sharma, Sunil Bali, Raj Kumar, and others also participated in this awareness campaign. |
