Banihal, Aug 21: A joint team of Delta Force and police today busted a militant hideout in Laskarwan forest of upper reaches of Khari area in Ramban District and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition including 13 kgs of explosives.
"Based on specific information about the presence of a militant hideout in Khari forest, the troops 23 RR of Delta Force and police troops from Police Post Khari launched a joint search operation in general forest area remote Khari and busted a militant hideout," the police spokesperson said.
He said, "The search operation led to recovery of one 7.62 mm Sniper Rifle, one Universal Machine Gun, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher, one Hand Grenade, three Sniper Magazines, 42 rounds of sniper Ammunition, two Belt boxes of Universal Machine Gun(without belt), three Bombs (unknown), one Radio Set, one Antenna Mount, 13 Kgs explosive, one Blanket, three Leather Shoes and one Rucksack." Meanwhile police have registered a case in this case. |
