NMC urges Govt to regularize daily rated workers

Jammu, Sept 21: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed to State Cabinet and all legislators to discuss and take final decision in the coming legislative session of both houses regarding regularization of sixty one thousand daily rated workers working in various departments of the State Government.
Interacting with media persons here, Subash Shastri stated that the issue of regularization of daily rated workers is hanging fire for the last twenty years and hoped that the present dispensation in the state has the will and capacity to take decision in favor of these suffering daily rated workers.
He retreated that a resolution needs to be passed by the legislators for making requisition to the Central government to keep provision of two thousand crore exclusively in the envisaged special package for the state for regularization and payment of pending wages to these daily rated workers. Shastri pointed out that most of these workers have given their youth years in various departments with the hope that their services will be regularized but neither previously not incumbent government have taken necessary steps to regularized them. He also urged that release of 6% DA in favour of state government employees and pensioner beside release of all pending dues of daily rated workers well before Eid festival. Among others who were present on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Jai Pal Sharma, Pardeep Kumar, Surjit Kumar, Sudesh Kumar, Paramjeet, Surinder Kumar and many others.
