Banihal, Sept 21: To keep check over the rates of vegetables and other essential commodities in Tehsil Khari in district Ramban, a checking drive was conducted, which imposed Rs. 2000 fine on violators.
The team during its checking imposed a fine of Rs. 2000 upon the violators who were selling commodities in contravention of the various provisions of Essential Commodities Act. About 2 Qtls of rotten vegetables were destroyed on spot. The violators were stringently warned to follow the prescribed rates of the Food and Supplies Department. The LPG gas retailers were instructed to sell gas as per the rates fixed for tehsil Khari. |
