Major bovine smuggling foiled, 47 bovine rescued | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar Sept, 21: Continuing its massive drive against bovine smuggling across district Doda, the police today foiled a major bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of three persons and rescuing atleast 47 animals from their possession. "The accused have been identified as Mohammad Abass s/o Gulam Haider of Gundna, Ghulam Qadir s/o Abdul Rashid of Bharat Doda and Ghulam Mohammad s/o Ghulam Rasool of Gundna, police said. According to police spokesperson, on specific information police raised a special naka at Shiba wali Marag in Dessa of district Doda. "Police party of Police Station Dessa intercepted above mentioned three bovine smugglers walking alongwith 47 bovine animals from Doda to Kashmir Valley, police said and added that the trio failed to show any valid document regarding transporting of animals from one district to other and thus were arrested on the spot. A case under FIR No 08/2015 u/s 188 RPC, 03 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Dessa against the accused and further investigations are on.
