JAMMU, Sept 21: Government School Water and Mid-Day Meal Workers Union demanded Director School Education Department to intervention for redressal of grievances of the workers. "We are living in most inhuman and economically exploitative conditions and those workers, who engaged in Government Schools are working regularly since last 10 to 42 years, are getting the wages Rs 10 and maximum Rs 5O per month, it's totally violation of payment of minimum wage Act, fixation and revision of compel under the conditions which are violation of Human Rights, "they mentioned in their statement. It further stated that they were already submitted the memorandum to the authorities of Education Department at Tehsil and district level and the concern authorities might have intimated to DSE for redressal of genuine grievances of water women/Men engaged in Govt. schools. As per statement, they demands including the workers (Water Men/Women) should be covered under SRO 308 as per Kashmir Region pattern, workers who have completed their services from 10 to 42 years should cover under pension scheme as per the pension rules for regular employees, the mid-day meal Workers should be covered under minimum wages and these workers should be given preference at the time of new recruitment. |
