Inter district state level U/14 cricket tourney starts

KATHUA, Sept 21: Inter District State level tournament in the discipline of cricket for the boys under 14 years got underway at sports stadium Kathua under the patronage of Jahangir Mir (KAS) Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K, under guidelines of Joint Director Madan Lal and supervision of Sunil Kumar District Youth Services and Sports officer Kathua.
The three Day's tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Manmohan Singh Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua by playing the first ball of DYSSO Sunil Kumar in the presence of Rajesh Kumar, Kailash Chander, Pawan Kumar (ZPEOs), Kuldeep Singh, Joginder Kumar Khajuria and Mohan Lal Dub.
A total of 13 Districts of the State are participating in which 188 players are playing. The tournament is for three days.
Today's matches were officiated by Jai Paul Singh, Mohal Lal Dub, Avnesh Kumar, Sandeepan Sharma, Omkar Singh, Ram Lubaya, Kulbushan Singh, Mandeep Singh, Rattan Bharti, Parveen Singh and others.
Raghbir Puri, Harigopal Sharma, Darshan Kumar, Sanjeev Sunny, Tilak Raj, Mohinder Paul, Virender Jasrotia, Ashok Kumar, Veena Devi, Rakesh Devi were also present on the occasion.
Today's results
First match:- First match was played between Jammu and Srinagar District in which Jammu gave the target of 110 runs in prescribed 15 overs. District Srinagar failed to achieve the target and declined by getting only 92 runs in all 15 overs by losing 9 wickets. Muzafar of Jammu was best bat who got 53 runs in 45 deliveries.
2nd Match:- Second match was played between Reasi and Baramula Districts. Reasi gave the target of 57 runs and all out in 13 overs. Baramula gave an easy defeat to Reasi by achieving its target just in 13 overs by 8 wickets. Manzir of Baramula scored 26 runs in 22 valid deliveries.
3rd Match:- Third match was played between Badgam and Poonch. Badgam gave a little target of just 54 runs in 15 overs. Poonch got the target by 9 wickets just during 7th over. Imran of Poonch got 25 runs in 19 balls.
