IMFA, PG Integrated Team JU claims first prize in Classical dance, Skit respectively

JAMMU, Sept 21 : On the Eighth day of ongoing 'Display Your Talent-2015-16' organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, the Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA) and GDC Gandhi Nagar bagged first and second respectively. On the Eighth day of ongoing 'Display Your Talent-2015-16' organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, the events of Classical Dance and Skit were conducted at the Examination Hall of University of Jammu.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof Pankaj K Srivastava, Dr A R Manhas, Dr Yudhbir Singh (Assistant Deans Students Welfare), Dr Savita Nayyer and other faculty members and office bearers were present at the occasion.
Raksha Godya from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Monisha Mehra from Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar and Romika Kumari from Institute of Music and Fine Arts were declared First, Second and Third in Classical Dance event.. V N Kohli, Anjali Sharma and Anil Gupta were the Judges and Dr. Sarita Sood was the Teacher In-Charge of the event.
In Skit competition, thirteen teams participated and the Skit 'Tension Hai Bhai Tension' by PG Integrated Team, University of Jammu was declared First, followed by 'Paani Tera Rang Kaisa' by Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar was declared Second and 'It Happens Only in India' by SPMR College of Commerce was declared third.
Gautam Kumar from SPMR College of Commerce was declared Best Actor and Richa Sharma from GCW, Gandhi Nagar and Sameeta Rana from PG Integrated Team, JU were adjudged Best Actress whereas Certificates of Merit in Acting were awarded to Surbhi Chalotra and Suneedhi Sharma from PG Integrated, Sanyam Pandoh and Tushar Chopra from KC Law College and Sonia Sharma from Govt. Degree College Akhnoor. Janak Khajuria, Anil Tickoo and Bhupinder Singh were the Judges and Dr. K.S. Charak was the Teacher In-Charge of the event. Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer) and Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor). Rahul Sharma, Archana Sharma, Amit Bali, Surinder Kumar, Darpendeep Kaur, Kamini, Abhishek Sharma coordinated the programme while Simrandeep Singh managed the Hall Management.
Contests will be held in Collage Making, Poster Making and One Act Play on tomorrow like Western Vocal Solo.
