Cardiologists, academicians jointly observe "World Peace Day"

Jammu, Sept 21: Cardiologists and academicians today jointly observed "World Peace Day" to spread message of peace and tranquility within the state, country and across the globe. According to spokesperson, the programme started with presenting of memorandum to the Vice Chancellor Jammu University Prof R D Sharma regarding setting up of centre for peace studies by the students and Scholars of the university.
Later participants took out a candle light march in the University Campus to give a message to one and all that it is better to light candles of peace than to burst crackers of violence and bloodshed.
Special invitee Dr Sushil K Sharma Head of Cardiology and Dr Seema Rohmetra of Law School (local co-ordinator Gandhi Peace Foundation) led the candle march.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Sushil Sharma said, "We all should make efforts for world peace from whatever level we can. Conflict is mother of all ills. From wars on the borders to family disputes, conflicts have destroyed beautiful lives."
