| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 25 animals rescued | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 25: Continuing its drive against the bovine snuggling, the police foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued twenty five bovine animals during a naka under the jurisdiction of Chenani Police,Udhampur, here today. Police sources said, "Based on specific information, a police team police team from Chenani Police led by SHO Chenani Mahesh Sharma launched hunt in the forest area." "On seeing police team the bovine smugglers escaped from the spot leaving the animals," sources said adding, "bovine animals which were left abandoned later were rescued by police." Meanwhile concerned police have registered a case u/s 188 RPC and cruelty to Animals Act.
