Jammu, Aug 18: Teachers Guild Jammu & Kashmir reviewed the transfer process of teaching professionals of education department in its specially convened meeting which was held here under the chairmanship of Nasir Ahmad Qurashi, state president of Teachers Guild Jammu & Kashmir. The toto core group of the Guild was present in the meeting besides other participants. Deliberations were held on the current issues of the School Education Department viz transfers of teachers, masters, headmasters, re-organization of educational zones, non-payment of salary to the SSA and RMSA teachers and masters and seasonal teachers, release of funds for mid day meal, release of pending arrears of regularized rehbar-e-taleem teachers, removal of pay anomaly of clerical cadre, regularization of In-charge ZEOs, ZEPOs, headmasters and lecturers etc. The recently transfers of teaching professionals of Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi and Udhampur was reviewed in detail. Nasir Ahmad Qurashi, in his presidential address, hailed the efforts of Director School Education Jammu in connection with transfers of teachers, masters and headmasters in districts of Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi and Udhampur without any pressure. He said that it is not possible for officers to please everyone during transfers but the Director School Education Jammu Smita Sethi set many appreciable and quotable examples of courage, boldness, honesty and transparency in transfers of teaching professionals. He said it seems through transfer lists uploaded on website of Directorate of School Education Jammu that directorate tried suitable adjustments of teaching professionals at suitable and approachable posts of their own areas in Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi and Udhampur districts. He said that transfers and adjustments on humanitarian ground, medical ground, need based or subject based ground and domestic ground is quite appreciable and for the benefit of concerned officials, which is a new initiative by the DSEJ. Narayan Baru, programme co-ordinator and cashier of Teachers Guild Jammu & Kashmir, said that the salaries of head teachers, teachers under new pension scheme, pay arrears of regularized Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers, EVs to R-e-T teachers are not released so far and the concerned suffer badly. He appealed to the Director School Education Jammu, SPD SSA, SPD RMSA to look into the matter and provide funds for the payment of salaries and arrears. Earlier presenting welcome address, Mohan Singh Choudhary, general secretary of the Teachers Guild, announced that the social and academic cells of teachers Guild are going to organize some special functions in government and private schools of state and he sought help of all teaching professionals and students. Charanji Lal, Member Rtd. Educationists Cell of TGJK, while presenting vote of thanks, stressed upon the teachers to realize their duties and responsibilities about their profession first. |
