Jammu, Aug 19: The Mughal road car rally was flagged off from here today, but will be restricted to Jammu region in view of the ongoing unrest in Kashmir Valley. The fourth round of Maruti Suzuki National Super League Rally Championship 2016, in which over 50 motor enthusiasts are participating, was flagged off by Divisional Commissioner Jammu region Pawan Kotwal. "It is not possible to move to Kashmir in view of the situation. So we have restricted it to Jammu region this year", an organiser said. The adventurous rally will end after crossing over various picturesque destinations near the city nestled against the backdrop of the mighty snow-capped Pir Panjal Mountains, an organiser said. The Mughal rally has attracted enthusiastic participation from the state, with over 15 local teams including the rallying team from Backyard Custom Sushma Chauhan, Director Tourism, Jammu, Er. S.K. Attri Dy. Dir Tourism, Jammu, Vijay Parmar President Himalayan Motorsport Association, Shimla were also present on the occasion The rally has been organised by Maruti Suzuki india Ltd & Himalayan Motor sport Association in collaboration with J&K Tourism. Over 35 teams, including five from J&K are participating in the championship. The teams of J&K are Pranav Vir Singh & Surya Pratap Singh, Prashant Khajhuria & Nitish Singh, Abhishek Rajput & Naveen Kumar, Raghu Raj Thappa & Harpreet Singh and Mudasir Nabi Sheikh & Nitin Mahajan. |
