LVD demands ex-gratia, special package for NoK of Uri martyrs | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Sept 21: Lashing out at the PDP-BJP coalition Government, Lok Vikas Dal (LVD) an NGO today alleged that the government has ''disrespected'' the martyred soldiers and demanded immediate compensation of special package for the Next of Kin (NoK) of martyrs. "It is unfortunate that many states has come forward and extended helping hand to the martyrs hailing to the respective states i.e. Bihar, UP, Maharashtra and Jharkhand martyred in Uri attack but unfortunately, Jammu and Kashmir Government has yet to take any such initiate to extend helping hand to two martyrs from Jammu, who among were those attained martyrdom in Uri attack. LVD Chairman Vikram Singh Slathia said that just only making lip sympathies and condemning the incidents will not solve the matter. He also added it is not a matter of money but respect and responsibility on behalf of the state government, which is obligatory and ought to be shown." Besides, ruling party's silence over the issue even political parties sitting in opposition benches too seems to have adopted mute spectators approach to this matter. Pertinently Havaldar Ravi Paul of village Sarba in district Samba and Subedar Karnail Singh of village Shibu Chack, Bishnah, Jammu, attained martyrdom. |
