Jammu, Feb 7: A recent report published by a group of eminent South Asian experts from 10 major American think tanks has stated that Pakistan Army continues to support terrorist groups that attack India to keep it "off balance" and draws international mediation into dispute over Kashmir.
As per the report titled 'A New US Approach to Pakistan: Enforcing Aid Conditions without Cutting Ties' Pakistan's military has often disrupted nascent peace efforts pursued by Indian and Pakistani civilian rulers.
"Pakistan uses terrorist groups as part of its security and foreign policy due to its obsession with India, which it perceives as an existential threat," the report states.
A top official while talking to Early Times said, "The report submitted by American think tanks has vindicated India's stand and has proved beyond doubt that Pakistan has been exporting terror and terrorists to India and has been fighting a proxy war in Jammu and Kashmir for the past 27-years.It has failed to mend its ways despite getting a befitting reply."
The official said that Pakistan stands isolated at the diplomatic front and entire world is aware about its misadventures and obsession with India. "The new US President Donald Trump has already announced that terrorism won't be tolerated and the countries which support terror and terrorists would have to fall in line."
"Political establishment in Pakistan has realized that
onald Trump means business and it would have to take some steps to pacify United States and the international community. To begin with it placed terrorist and mastermind behind Mumbai terror attacks, Hafiz Sayeed, under house arrest and banned Jamaat-ul-Dawa, an organization headed by Sayeed. However, JuD has resurfaced with a new name in Pakistan and is carrying on with its activities, aimed at targeting India," the official said. "There is no possibility of Pakistan giving up its obsession with India and terrorism. Pakistan Army rules the country while the elected representatives are nothing more than puppets, who have to follow their generals."
One surgical strike not enough!
One surgical strike against terrorist camps operating in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) is not enough. Indian Army should carry on with a few more surgical strikes and destroy the entire terror infrastructure there. Till these terrorist camps are not destroyed Pakistan won't learn a lesson."
A defence analyst said, "One surgical strike against terrorist camps operating in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) is not enough. Indian Army should carry on with a few more surgical strikes and destroy the entire terror infrastructure there. Till these terrorist camps are not destroyed Pakistan won't learn a lesson."
He said, "It's unfortunate that our desire for peace is being considered as our weakness. This perception has to change and its high time for the political establishment in India to give full powers to Army to take decisive action against Pakistan."
"The new President of United States Donald Trump has already announced that terrorism in any form won't be tolerated. Time is ripe for India to act so that Pakistan doesn't dare to bleed India anymore," he added.
