VPolice works out theft case, recovers stolen property worth Rs 1.5 lakh

Rajouri, Apr 20: Acting promptly and in a professional manner, Dharamshal police of Rajouri district have worked out a theft case with the arrest of accused and recovered a stolen property worth Rs1,50, 000 within 24 hours from a border village Mendher of Poonch district.
"On April 18 one Suresh Kumar s/o A mar Nath r/o Siot, approached Dharamshal police station along with a complaint that on the intervening night of April 17 & 18 an unknown person (s) have stolen his Thrasher worth Rs1,50000 lakh which was parked outside his house, police spokesperson said. Accordingly a case u/s 379 RPC was registered against the unknown thieves and police started investigation. During investigation police at various Police check posts, checked about the movement of various vehicles on Jammu-Poonch highway on the late evening hours on April 17. "Acting on some reliable inputs, police picked up one suspect namely Mohammed Sadaqat S/o Mohammed Akhter R/o Sagra village situated near Line of Control in Mendher of Poonch district," police said. "During questioning Sadaqat confessed his crime and police also have recovered the stolen property on his disclosures, spokesperson said.
Accordingly a police party headed by Assistant Sub Inspector Ram Parkash under the supervision of Romal Singh, SHO sent to village Sagra for the recovery of the stolen Thrasher" said a senior police officer.
"Police recovered the stolen Thrasher attached with a tractor without any registration number and was hidden in the forest near Sadaqat's house."
Police seized the Thrasher along with tractor and brought it along with Sadaqat to Dharamshal for further investigation and legal formalities.
