Primay School Kehnu sans facilities, students suffer due to teachers' absenteeism

Poonch, Apr 20: Alleging that students of Govt Primary School Kehnu of Poonch district sans basic facilities besides prevailing absenteeism among teaching staff, locals have lamented that it is taking toll of the academic session of students who suffer a lot especially due to absenteeism among teaching staff.
According to the local sources, there are only two teachers senior and local one of them usually remains absent from his duty whereas other comes to often late to school and also declares school off much before the scheduled working of school.
A visit to the school by this reporter at around quarter to eleven, revealed that both the teachers were absent from their duties while students were playing around the school.
Interestingly the said school was opened in 1972 and has only one room which also is in dilapidated condition and no infrastructure has been enhanced till date reasons better known to concerned authorities.
"Earlier the school was without toilets however in 2015, the then government sanctioned two toilets for this school under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) but ironically both of them are yet to complete," locals complained while highlighting the lack of facilities at this school.
Locals allegedly said there students are suffering a lot at this school and locals are left with no option but to send their wards to private schools for better education.
Locals have appealed to Education Minister Altaf Bukhari to intervene and order a probe in the matter
