Medical Employees Federation stages dharna

Jammu, Apr 20: In continuation of its series of protests in every block of Jammu and Kashmir, medical employees today held one day-long dharna in the premises of PHC Kot Bhalwal under the leadership of JKMEF state president Sushil Sudan.
The protesting employees raised slogans in support of their demands, which included that the DPC should be cleared at par with Govt. Medical College/Drug & Food Control Organization on the pattern of Executive Order passed by the Administrative Department till the SRO-20 (Recruitment Rules) is modified. Further all the promotions should be made strictly in accordance to the seniority.
Also amendment of SRO 20 dated 24-02-1992 which is pending since more than 15 years be implemented without further delay and permanent solution of Salary Head 2211-Family Welfare as the salary of the employees working under 2211 Head are pending for more than six months which should be released immediately. They also demanded upgrading the posts of Pharmacists as Sr. Pharmacist, Sup. Pharmacist, Head Pharmacist, Block Pharmacy Officers and District Pharmacy Officer besides ten more different demands listed in the memorandum Health Minister Bali Bhagat also visited PHC Kote Bhalwal and talked to the senior leaders of JKMEF. While addressing the dharna Sushil Sudan and Vinod Kumar Sharma, Secy Ge. JKMEF said that the Medical Employees Federation has been forced to start peaceful struggle to get its long pending demands addressed. They threatened to intensify the struggle if no action was taken on their genuine demands.
Other who address the protests dharna include Manjeet Singh, Jaswant Singh, Vishal Patil, Rekha Kumari, Jagdish Kumar, Madan Kumar, Inayat, Ajit, Kuldeep Sharma and J.P Singh.
