JAMMU, Sept 13: With an objective to build capacity amongst Scientists, Engineers, technocrats, Scholars from Academic institutes and other stake holders in water resources sector, the Tier-II training course of 3 days on "Ground Water Development & Management" was stalled at Jammu, by Central Ground Water Board. North Western Himalayan Region. Jammu under the aegis of the "National Ground Water Research & Training Institute, Raipur.
Dr. V. S Mannas, Professor & Head of Department of Geography, Jammu University, was the 'Chief Guest' of the Inaugural function K. P. Singh. Sr. Scientist, CGWB, Jammu 'Presided' over the function in his inaugural address, K.P. Singh, Sr. Scientist, talked about the need of all the stake holders working in water sector, to come together for harmonious development of ground water and cap the mismanagement of water resources due to indiscriminate withdrawal, population explosion, increasing water pollution etc, disciplinary collaborative scientific studies to manage our precious ground water resources
The 'Chief Guest' of the program, Dr. V. S Man has while addressing the gathering emphasized on the importance of training program for stakeholders and policy makers.
