VOJ raids CEO Kishtwar's office, seizes records

Kishtwar, Sept 13: Taking strong note of the mismanagement and irregularities in the office of Chief Education Officer, sleuths of Vigilance Organization Jammu today conducted a surprise raid in his office and seized various records pertaining to mass scale transfers and attachments of teachers through middleman.
As per the details available with "Early Times", four member Vigilance team arrived in the office of CEO at around 2 PM today and scrutinized the documents pertaining to mass scale transfers, attachments and financial transaction in the Education Department through Chief Education Officer Kishtwar.
During more than four hour raid, the vigilance team seized the records and orders pertain to mass scale midterm transfers done by CEO through middleman involving corruption, favoritism and nepotism following which the CEO Kishtwar Ajeet Kumar Sharma was suspended by the government and attached in the office of Director School Education Jammu.
As per the reports, more than 70 transfers of teachers without any proper approval were made by the CEO Kishtwar, beside also order mass scale attachments of teachers, master grades and senior assistants including the attachment of 28 employees in CEO Office Kishtwar wherein each employee was assigned particular section while middleman who is behind the ongoing fiasco in education department also get key assignments in the office establishment.
Beside record pertaining to transfers, Vigilance also seized record of financial transaction in terms of fuel charges, RMSA, SSA, Mid Day meal, functioning of legal cell and other financial transaction of Eco club.
After reaching the office of the CEO Kishtwar, the officials of the Education Department summoned former in charge CEO Office Kishtwar who handed over all the documents to vigilance officials.
The sources said that vigilance officials had also demanded certain documents and ask the concern officials to hand over the same to them in next few days. The sources said that several orders were issued from outside establishment as office computer for the same was not used for typing of these controversial orders.
It is pertinent to mention that today's vigilance raid were conducted following series of reports of embezzlement in education department Kishtwar.
