25 years RI to accused for gang rape of minor

Jammu, Nov 13: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi S R Gandhi today awarded 25 years rigorous imprisonment to Sunil Kumar alias Balwant S/o Pikha Ram, Sat Pal alias Matha S/o Vishwa Nath u/s 376 (D) RPC and three years RI to Mst. Revo Devi alias Parsenoo W/o Pawan Kumar in a case of kidnapping and gang rape of a minor.
According to the police case, on 12.05.2015 father of the prosecutrix ( name withheld ) lodged a written report in the Police Station Reasi alleging that on 09.05.2015 in his absence Revo Devi who keeps a bad reputation in the village came to his house and taking benefit of their absence took her daughter aged 15/16 years for collecting firewood in the jungle. Prosecutrix was taken in the jungle and thereafter, Revo Devi went away on the pretext of attending the call of nature. Immediately thereafter Sunil Kumar and Sat Pal reached there and committed rape upon her one after another. When she raised alarm the accused persons threatened her. The accused persons kept her in the jungle for whole night. After the prosecutrix was released from their custody she disclosed the whole incident to her family. The accused persons threatened father of the victim that in case he would initiate any legal action against them they will kill him. On the basis of aforesaid complaint FIR No. 67/2015 for the commission of offences under Sections 376/120-B/342/506 RPC was registered. After completion of investigation challan was presented.
Principal Sessions Judge Reasi S R Gandhi after hearing both the sides ordered that for the commission of offence of gang-rape punishable under Section 376 (D) RPC each of the convict namely Sunil Kumar alias Balwant and Sat Paul alias Matha shall undergo rigorous imprisonment for 25( Twenty five) years and a fine of Rs.10,000/-. It is ordered that for the offence under Section 363 RPC convict Revo Devi alias Parsenoo shall undergo rigorous imprisonment for 3 (three) years and a fine of Rs.5,000/-.
