BJP wary of its Kashmir cadre
12/14/2017 11:10:59 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 14: The BJP is likely to keep serious tab on the new comers joining the party in Kashmir. Sources said that it has received serious inputs that most of the new comers joining the party are not only of the 'dubious' credentials but could turn out to be 'fair weather' workers.
They said the party has been receiving many complaints that even though the its cadre strength has increased in the Valley, but the sincerity of the this cadre is still 'doubtful'.
"We have received inputs that there are instances where new incomers into the party have even fleeced ordinary Kashmiris on one pretext or the other. And, being in the ruling party and that too in the Kashmir, they even threaten the borrowers. This is serious and is slowly giving bad name to the party, which has always taken pride in the party with the difference," said the top BJP sources.
The sources said that party has even received inputs that there are even serious doubts if these newcomers will really add up to the party campaign in the next elections in the state . "The real strength of the cadres comes out when it galvanizes the public during elections times. Going by the reports and inputs we have serious doubts about some of these new comers so. Right now, they are doing the party work, but will it sustain it's an open question," said the sources.
The sources said that the BJP high command is likely to hold meeting with the state leadership in this regard and discuss it, which sources said the party high command views very seriously.
"We may not be huge political force in the valley but we are going all out make our presence felt there. For this we need the real cadre strength and not the 'fair weather' ones so will discuss this issue and also devise the strategy as there is still some time for the elections but the process has to start now itself," said the sources.
