Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 12: After Friday prayers, a strong public protest demonstration was held in the premises of Markazi Jama Masjid Talab Khatikan Jammu under the banner of Muslim Development Forum (MDF) Jammu wherein the large number of protesters with play cards in their hands were raising slogans against Custodian Departments Jammu & Jammu Municipality for their involvement in committing gross violations / irregularities in widening of road from Rajinder Bazar to Jamia Masjid Jammu.
Protestors expressed their resentment over the prevailing insanitary condition of Jamia Masjid Area and while addressing gathering Syed Shabir Ahmad Shah, President of MDF (J&K) Jammu highlighted various issues relating to construction of Markazi Jamia Masjid Talab Khatikan Jammu.
Shah said that the widening of road from Rajinder Bazaar to Jamia Masjid is important issue which is deliberately being sabotaged by corrupt officials of custodian and municipality Jammu.
"It is surprising that the structure which was coming in the widening of road was paid due compensation by the Government and was removed by the district administration Jammu in 2016. But surprisingly the said structure alongwith the so called left out land was re-allotted by custodian department to its tenant again. Thus, defeating the very purpose of widening of road to facilitate the transport and 20,000 expected nimazes of Markazi Jamia Masjid", said Shah.
He further alleged that it is the handiwork and deep rooted conspiracy of Jammu Municipality and Custodian Department against the Historic Mosque and hurting the sentiments of Muslims.
Shah clarified that the commission of fraud in widening of said road was brought in the notice of Jammu Municipality, Custodian Jammu and was also reported to Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Divisional Commissioner Jammu. Thereafter, the matter was reported to State Vigilance Organization Jammu, but all are in deep slumber over the sensitive issue.
"The municipality is going to approve the map of the said re-allotted structure of Taj Hotel coming in the road .Other issues insanitary condition of the area particularly the miserable un hygienic condition due to blockage of drains and over flowing of dirty water with unbearable foul smell and heaps' and dumping sites everywhere around the agates of Jamia Masjid & Dargah Hazrat Baba Panjpeer Sahab is the matter of serious concern for the inhabitants, whereas Jammu Municipality is least bothered about all this", maintained Shah.
Shah appealed the Chief Minister of the State to order a high level inquiry in the fraud committed by Municipality and Custodian Department Jammu in the issue of widening of road from Rajinder Bazar to Jamia Masjid Talab Khatikan Jammu and initiation of strict legal action against the corrupt and erring officials involved in the case.
Besides other among the protestors prominent among them were Nawab Din, Malik Haji Gh Rasool Zafar Sahib, Jinab Amjad Shiekh, Shah Din Moughal and shopkeeper association, Mohd Hussain Lone Hafiz Ashfaq, Mohd Hussain Kargilli.
