But BJP will not declare Pakistan a terrorist state
Sunjuwan Terror Attack
2/12/2018 11:08:16 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 12: When in opposition the BJP used to attack and corner the Congress for what it would call its "weakened Pakistan and Kashmir policy". It would ask it to declare Pakistan a terrorist state and give a freehand to the Army so that it could eliminate the menace of separatism and terrorism in Kashmir Valley. It would stage walkout after walkout from the Parliament saying the Congress government's responses to its questions and queries were unsatisfactory. It would also accuse the Congress-led UPA Government of adopting a soft approach towards secessionism in Kashmir, as also to the cult of stone-pelting.
But when it came to the BJP, it also thought it prudent to carry forward the policy of the Congress-led UPA Government. On Sunday, the BJP, which during the election campaign in 2014, had declared that it would declare Pakistan a terrorist state, bring Pakistan to its knees and withdraw from Pakistan the status of Most Favoured Nation (MFN), declared that it would not declare Pakistan a terrorist state.
The BJP ruled out the possibility of the NDA Government declaring Pakistan a terrorist state when asked "if it would declare Pakistan a terrorist state in the wake of Friday terrorist attack launched by the Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad on the vital Army Camp at Sunjuwan on the outskirts of Jammu city and ceasefire violations by the Pakistani Army".
Dismissing the demand seeking status of terrorist state for Pakistan, the BJP said that "declaration of Pakistan as a terrorist state by India would not be beneficial" and that "we are working at international level to get Pakistan isolated and blacklisted". "We want to the world to act against Pakistan," the BJP said.
In other words, the BJP said that the international community should act against Pakistan and help out India completely overlooking the fact that no nation fights for another nation and that the nations act only when their own geo-political and economic interests are adversely impacted.
Earlier, the BJP-led NDA Government had overruled the possibility of India withdrawing the status of MFN from Pakistan and it took this stand despite the fact that Pakistan had granted the same status to India.
The BJP's Pakistan policy, like the Congress' Pakistan policy, is only helping Pakistan and the result is that Pakistan has been violating ceasefire on a daily basis killing civilians, causing migration and martyring our soldiers. It's no wonder that the BJP government and the BJP are at the receiving end and the people getting disenchanted saying the "BJP is the other face of the Congress".
