Challenger, Singh & Khour registers wins in Police Friendship Cricket Tournament

Jammu, Feb 14: Challenger Cricket Club , Singh Cricket Club & Khour Cricket Club registered win against their opponent teams and entered in the next round in the ongoing "Police Friendship Cricket Tournament for rural Youths" at Country Cricket Stadium Ghrota which is being organized by District Police Jammu under the supervision of Vivek Gupta SSP Jammu and the slogan of the tournament is "Khelo Khel Bhulo Nasha ". whereas the organizing committee of the championship includes Rajesh Gill Chief prosecuting Officer, Raj Paul Singh Dy.SP Headquarters Jammu, Munish Anand SDPO Akhnoor, Dy.SP DAR Jammu, Gurmeet Singh SHO Ghrota, Vivek Sharma, Sham Singh, Om Raj, Ajay Sharma and Taginder Singh .
The objective of the championship is to provide platform to the rural youths so that they can show case their hidden talent and to involve the young generation in sports activities so that they may not derail from the main stream.
Earlier in the first matches Challenger Cricket Club Sunail defeated Ranjan Cricket Club by 35 runs and entered in the semis. Batting first Challenger Cricket Club Sunail scored 119 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 16 overs with Rajesh 20 runs, Vinod 16 runs and Jimmy 14 runs. From bowling side Sunit and Karan took 3 wickets each while Rahul took 1 wicket for the team.
In reply Ranjan Cricket Club could not chased the target and made only 84 runs in 16 overs for the loss of 9 wickets thus lost the match by 35 runs. Arun 17, Pawan 16 and Rahul 12 were the main scorers. From bowling Side Rajinder took 6 wickets while Rajesh took 1 wicket. Rajinder was declared as man of the match.
In another match Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor defeated Thathi Cricket Club by 23 runs and entered in the semis.
Batting first Singh Cricket Club made 130 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 18 overs with Sumit 63 runs and Manik Sharma 25 runs. From bowling side karan took 2 wickets,Sahil and Vikas shared 1 wicket for the team.
In reply Thathi Cricket Club could not chased the target and manage to made only 107 runs in 17.3 overs for the loss of all wickets thus lost the match by 23 runs. Rahil 24 and Anil 22 runs were the main scorers for TCC. From bowling side Sham Singh took 2 wickets while Sunil, happy, Somu, Sumit and Ankush took 1 wicket each. Sumit was adjudged as man of the match.
In another match Khour Cricket Club defeated FCC Bhalwal by 93 runs and entered in the semis. Batting first Khour Cricket club scored 155 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 16 overs with Rahul 45 runs, Kavi 31 runs and Panku 23 runs were main scorers. From bowling side Iqbal took 4 wickets, Gourav took 2 wickets while Ashwani and Kailash took 1 wicket each.
In reply FCC Bhalwal could not chased the target and bundled out for a mere 62 runs for all in 12.2 overs. Gourav was the only batsman who reach double figure and score 14 runs. From bowling side Chikku and Mania took 2 wickets each while Kavi, Rahul, Mannu, Karan and Pankaj took 1 wicket each. Rahul was declared as man of the match.
Umpires of the today's matches were Dayal and Ankit Sharma whereas the scorebook was maintained by Avinash.
Semifinal matches of the Championship shall be held on Friday informed by Rajesh Gill Coordinator of the event.
