2/16/2018 10:43:32 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 16: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad along with the students of you UIET staged protest outside the Raj Bhavan in Jammu.
The protest was led by ABVP State Secretariay Deepak Gupta, Mahanagar Mantri Piyush Khajuria & Saksham Koushal elected representative of UIET. Seeing the recent protests by the students at Jammu University for taking away University Institute of Engineering and Technology from the university by the cabinet decision.
The cabinet recently in the past week has brought out a notification which says that the University Institute of Engineering and Technology which was initially the part and Institute of Jammu University which is an A+ grading University is now not a part of Jammu University, rather it has been allotted the status of GCET Janklot.
The students while addressing the media said that students had taken admission in A+ grade University rather than University which has no grading as notification says that the university shall be a part of the cluster University have which has been created by the cabinet in the past year. Which includes 5 Colleges and it will now includes GCET Junglot also. Students said that that they have already completed their first semester of their course of 4 years and now they have been left homeless as the University Administration and government is saying them to move to GCET Janklot & students are now forced to come on roads and make Dharna Pradarshan.
The students have already approached the Vice Chancellor But VC said that nothing is in his hands. And met with Prof Amitabh Mattu ,the Honorable advisor to the Chief Minister Who said that that he has already discussed the matter with the chief minister and they are having their concern on it for which he assured the students that they will definitely take some action.
The student said that this is dictatorship of the government that they are not looking after the grievance of the students and not trying to see the redressal for the demands of the students rather they are just opposing their decision forcing the decision on the students .Today when the students approached the Governor didn't met the students as it is pertinent to notice that from last few days Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad has been approaching the governor house who is the chancellor of the University But there is no answer from their side just they are delaying the appointment.
Which clearly shows lack of concern towards the students of the university. Students Moved behind Governor to Skuast university a state of tensiom developed outsida skuast as student starting protesting over to meet the Governor. Afterwards one student delegate was allowed to submit the memorendum to him after Although students sat on chain hunger strike from 8 pm outside VC chamber Jammu University Namely Shuchait Verma, Taksh Jandyal, Utkarsh Uppal, Shubham Langer ABVP Jammu mahanagar joint secretary, Suyash Gupta Jammu University secretary ABVP unit .
