UDHAMPUR, Feb 21: In the backdrop of the statement of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti advocating talks with Pakistan to stop border infiltration and hostilities, father of martyr captain Tushar Mahajan has expressed his resentment on the approach of the government and demanded hot pursuit against Pakistan and the Pakistani terrorists.
Dev Raj, the father of the martyr said that everyday officers and Jawans of the armed forces were laying down their lives and the governments of the state and the Centre busy were only issuing statements condemning the Pak misadventures. Dev Raj added that time had come to pay Pakistan back in its own way and teach it a lesson once for all.
Dev Raj rued that two years after his son laid down his life fighting Pakistani terrorists at EDI building in Pampore, the promises made to the family were not fulfilled.
He divulged that the Members of Legislative Assembly of the District, Presidents of Prominent Associations and public of the district demanded renaming of 'Udhampur Railway Station' as 'Martyr Capt. Tushar Mahajan Railway Station' as a small tribute to the martyred soul. The people of the district moved several applications to the Central Government for the aforementioned purpose but the ACM/Rates for Chief Commercial Manager/FM vide letter Not 506- R/Udhampur/FZR/2016 Dated 08-11-2016 asked them to approach to the concerned State Government authority (District Collector) for examining the proposal with recommendation.
However, there has been no headway in the demand of the people of Udhampur, including the public representatives.
Meanwhile, Locals, family and friends turned up to pay rich tributes to the martyr on the second anniversary of his martyrdom here on Wednesday.
Maj Gen Northern Command S.K Rao first paid floral tribute to the Martyr after that Mother and Father (Dev Raj) Paid tribute to the Martyr. Meanwhile Pawan Gupta MLA udhampur , DC udhampur Ravinder Kumar, SSP Udhampur Rayeez Mohammad Bhat , Senior Army and Police officers also paid rich floral tribute to Martyr.
