| Having remained as a responsible Member of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, you switched over for playing the role of hard line leadership in representing the masses in the valley. Not only this, you remained instrumental in bringing Mufti Mohammed Sayeed into power in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and at the same time you always advocate for initiating the Dialogue Process with Pakistan for the ultimate solution of the Kashmir issue. I as a writer appeal to you to make your stand a little bit soft and think for welfare of the depressed Kashmiris who are facing the turmoil due to the militancy spread by the Military rulers of Pakistan.
They always obeyed your sermons and dictates in the past and are still obeying the same without any fail. Being a noble and well learned personality of Kashmir, you kindly forget the past and join the ongoing talks being held by the recently appointed Government of India Interlocutor Daneshwar Sharma with all the stake holders. PDP which remained your supporter in the past has also pleaded for the same pursuing with the contents of the Agenda of Alliance (AoA). The Interlocutor Daneshwar Sharma is keen to have a Dialogue with you on the issue involved. He is for clinching of the issue at the earliest. You should not waste any time for joining the talks with Daneshwar Sharma. Not only this in the AOA the Coalition Government has made Hurriyat as the major stakeholder to arrive at well considered settlement of Kashmir problem. Geelani, it is a hard fact that state of Jammu and Kashmir in the past has experienced the Autocratic Rules since 1846 and at present is passing through an ear of Dynastic Rules. Earlier it was under Shiekh Abdullah Dynastic Rule and at the moment passing through Mufti Dynastic Rule. Jammu and Kashmir and all these times , Kashmiris passed through the suffocated atmosphere . You always remained powerful in the masses and were giving the dictates. At present you are ailed with many medical problems and despite all this odds, you move from one place to another in pleading the cause of Kashmiris.
It is the high time that you should feel concerned about the welfare and well being of the Kashmiri masses instead of Azadi for which you remained as the staunch supporter and pleader also. It appears that Government of India may consider some concrete formula (short of Azadi) as suggested by you for the ultimate solution of Kashmir issue. I request you to kindly pay some attention to my request in the overall interests of the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Your action, on this score, will certainly yield some positive results for the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir state.
Kindly rise to the occasion and after having made the indepth analysis of the past events, start thinking totally afresh for the ultimate benefits of the Kashmiri masses. All the rightful thinking people consider that the fate of Kashmir is with India only instead of Pakistan. It is in the larger interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Kindly concentrate on getting something short of Azadi. Since the Government of India has given a free hand to the Interlocutor Daneshwar Sharma for settling the issue of Kashmir, You may kindly join the talks with him also as the other stake holders are on the job for the purpose. As You know very much that when the division of India was made on August 15, 1947, Pakistan came into being as an independent Nation on the Globe. Jammu and Kashmir state was an independent state under Maharaja Hari Singh's Rule . Having felt helpless, due to the Qabailis intrusion in J&K on October 22, 1947, he requested the Indian Government to come at his rescue by sending its Army to defend his kingdom and for providing the life safety and protection to the subjects of this land. Maharaja Hari Singh signed the IOA acceding J&K with India on October 26, 1947.
Not AZADI but short of it, while remaining within the ambit of Indian Constitution may be thought for by the Central Government in the very interests of the nation as a whole as also to avoid ongoing Kashmir unrest as also innocent killings in the valley. Seeing the present Kashmir turmoil now the present National Government led by Narender Modi is very much serious to clinch the Kashmir tangle once for all at the earliest possible. The Union Government has devised the revised strategy afresh in respect of Kashmir issue. Since you are a religious personality also, it becomes obligatory on you to think for the ultimate welfare and wellbeing of the poor and down masses of the valley. You are once again requested for concentrating on these lines. Let's hope for the best. |
