Poonch, Apr 18: Social Welfare Department is known for helping the down trodden but political interference has adversely affected its functioning.
According to the sources, "scooters sanctioned for physically challenged persons are to be distributed very soon, where a Poonch legislator is going to straddle".
They told Early Times that political representatives are keeping their influence over 13&14FCs and now are trying to play cheap politics on handicaps.
Member OBC advisory board Mohammad Rashid said, political interference in distribution of scooties is condemnable.
Pensioners said although government has released funds for all the pensioners but district social welfare officer Poonch is not transferring it to the beneficiaries' accounts. They have demanded an inquiry into the matter. |
