Jammu, Apr 20: Amid strong rumours of an imminent cabinet reshuffle, the doctors and alleged middlemen are worried after resignation of the Health Minister a few days back, as the transfer list of doctors is stuck.
If official sources are to be believed, more than 90 doctors' transfer list is ready with the concerned authority for last some days. Since the list is not being released, it has caused great inconvenience to the middlemen who allegedly have a nexus with a few officials of the department as well as few doctors who want choicest postings.
"The transfer list was stopped at the eleventh hour as BJP leaders had to hand over their resignations to the party president," sources said, adding that this was the main reason why the list was not released.
Sources alleged that the middlemen are continuously creating pressure on the few officials to issue the list before cabinet reshuffle. Even, they are visiting politicians' homes and appeasing them to get choicest postings as soon as possible.
"The Health and Medical Education Department is already in limelight for allegedly running transfer industry. More than 2000 transfers were affected in the last one and a half year," sources said.
They said some doctors were transferred twice and thrice for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities as the orders were issued 'in the interest of administration'.
Besides, some 'blue-eyed' and influential doctors managed to remain attached at the choicest places as well as evening clinics in Jammu city.
Earlier, the Doctors Association Kashmir had alleged that the transfer industry is being operating by the mafia in the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir where frequent transfer orders were issued during the past some months. |
