Rajouri, Apr 20: Accusing police of bias in dealing with a scuffle incident that occurred in a remote Keri village (in which the accused boy later died )on Thursday under the jurisdiction of Budhal police station in Rajouri district, people of the area today blocked Jammu-Poonch highway at Sunderbani demanding action against the police post in-charge.
However, Rajouri police constituted a Special investigation Team (SIT) for probing the whole incident and DySP Headquarters Rajouri, Jaswant Singh would head the SIT.
Meanwhile , the internet services in Rajouri district was suspended by the authorities as precautionary measures following the death of a teenage boy under mysterious circumstances. Sources said a physical scuffle took place between Mohd Latief son of Abdul Gafoor and Chander Parkash son of Kewla Krishan (only son) both minors on Wednesday over a trivial issue.
The father of the deceased was out of station at the time of the incident and during scuffle Mohd Latief received injuries and on his complaint police lodged a case under sections 341/323 RPC against Chander Parkash while no FIR was lodged against Mohd Latief.
On Thursday Chander Parkash developed some complications and after initial treatment at local hospital he died on way to Sunderbani hospital.
On Thursday Yougal Manhas, SSP said that according to preliminary inquiry and doctor's opinion, the deceased might have consumed some poisonous substance or suffered some shock as no injury marks were found on the body of the deceased.
However, SSP added that police have started a probe into the incident and every angle will be taken into consideration and a team of doctors has been constituted to conduct the post-mortem.
"But the people of the area didn't allow the post-mortem alleging police have not registered FIR against Mohd Latief, " said a local resident.
SSP also warned some mischievous element of stern action under law who, according to SSP, trying to communalize the issue.
Family members, relatives and villagers today held a protest demonstration at Khawas against the local police, senior police officers, district administrations and local Legislatures and demanded action against the police post in-charge, registration of case against those involved in the alleged murder of Chander Parkash, compensation for the family etc.
Later they shifted the body to Sunderbani town and with the help of social organisation blocked Jammu-Poonch highway in favour of their demands.
Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhry, DDC along with SSP rushed to Sunderbani and held talks with family members and local representatives.
After patient hearing DDC assured action against police post in-charge, constituted a SIT to probe the incident, assured either cash compensation or job next to kin of the deceased and registration of FIR against those involved in the alleged murder (identified by the family members).
After legal formalities police later brought the body to hospital where a team of three doctors conducted post-mortem and later body was handed over to legal heirs for his last rites. Despite repeated attempts DDC remained mum.
