Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 20: The Srinagar bench of Jammu and Kashmir High Court has restrained a state owned corporation, which had issued supply order to the tune of Rs.4.80 crore without opening of financial bid.
Early times in its report dated April 2, 2018 titled "Blue-eyed bidder issued order to supply dental equipment Rs 4.80 cr, Codal formalities trashed!" had exposed that the corporation had invited E-bids for procurement supply of various dental machinery and equipment including dental chairs in the year 2015 and without opening of financial bid, the corporation had allotted supply order to a company in violation of the norms. Out of four, three companies were found qualified in the technical evaluation bid by the Corporation. The corporation was supposed to open the financial bids of the qualified bidders which till date have not been opened and the contract of supply order was given to a particular company while others were ignored.
One of the qualified firm had knocked the door of high court which in turn stayed the supply order. The stay order released on April 4,2018, reads, " in case the official respondents have issued the order impugned without opening the financial bids and without finalizing the contract, in favour of respondent no.4, the aforesaid supply order dated Feb26, 2018, impugned in the petition, shall stay till next date. The next date of hearing is on April 27, 2018.
