One arrested, stolen property Rs. 2 Lacs recovered

Jammu, Apr 20: In continuation to operation Meghdoot, today Jammu Police achieved a major success by cracking one burglary case and recovered gold/household items worth Rs. 2 lacs.
Police spokesman said that on April 14 of 2018, one Rajinder Singh of Greater Kailash, Jammu reported at Police Station Gangyal that on Aprl 12 when he was out from his house along with his family, some unknown person stolen away some domestic items including gold ornaments and other household articles from his house.
"On this, a case under FIR No 34/2018 was registered at Police Station Gangyal under relevant sections of law and investigation started", said spokesman adding that during investigation, Police team visited the spot and kept a sharp vigil in the area of this Police Station and adjoining areas to find out the miscreants and many suspects were rounded up to recover the stolen property.
Police spokesman further said that today one suspect namely Ramandeep Singh of Poonch during questioning revealed his involved in above said theft case and on his disclosure gold ornaments weighing 4 tolas, 1 laptop and 7 LPG cylinders (valuing Rs. 2 Lacs) were recovered from his possession.
Further questioning is going on and some more recoveries are to be expected.
The arrest and recovery was made by SI Naiyat Ali, SHO Police Station Gangyal and SI Vicky Thapa in-charge police post Greater Kailash under the supervision of Rafiq Manhas SDPO City South and Sandeep Cahaudhary, SP City South Jammu.
