Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 20: Amid ongoing turbulence within the state Coalition and both its constituents in the back drop of Rassana incident, there are reports that at least one of the two BJP Ministers who were asked to tender their resignations recently, could float a new political dispensation, causing a vertical split in the BJP.
The said Minister has been too eloquent against the government he was part of and his own party after he was asked to resign. Anguished by the dictate to resign for standing with the accused in the infamous Rassana incident, he has launched a direct attack on the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and the leadership of his own party.
"The hostility in his statements indicate that he has made up his mind to part ways with the BJP which he embraced just before Lok Sabha elections of 2014," said a senior journalist. Sources also divulge that he has been buoyed by the overwhelming response he received during the rally he took out from Jammu to Kathua after tendering his resignation. "He got unexpected support of the people at most places along the route of the rally, which might have prompted him to mull the idea of floating a new dispensation" he added.
Meanwhile, the demand of a CBI inquiry into the Rassana incident that shook the conscience of entire nation has gained momentum after some glaring pitfalls were pointed out in the charge sheet of the Crime Branch of the state police, which has reinforced the stand taken by the BJP ministers who were dictated by the party to resign.
People across Jammu region are looking at such a preempted political development with an air of expectancy and poise. "Jammu needs a new party to emerge on its political horizon to fill up the leadership vacuum that has been created ever since BJP shared power with PDP and formed government in the state" said a political commentator in Kathua.
