ramban, Apr 21: A day long workshop on 'Safety and empowerment of girls and women through digital and financial literacy' held by Shrishti Bakshi who has been on a 3800 Km long Padyatra from Kanyakumari-Srinagar while passing through Ramban in Degree College, here today.
During the Workshop she awared the students and faculty about her NGO, Crossbow Miles, which she had founded in 2016 and involved the students in some activities and PowerPoint presentation.She also made the girls to speak out their experiences.
On the last leg of her Padyatra, her father Lt.Gen.(retd.),AK Bakshi and mother too have joined her team of 12 besides 4 helpers.and a documentary team here. She said that her mission is to mobilize the communities to make India a safer country for girls and women. Starting her journey from Kanyakumari on September 15, 2017 she has so far covered 3600 Km in past 220 days with an average distance of 30 Km per day and crossed 12 states. So far she has held about 100 workshops and met about 65000 people on her way.
She is expected to end her Padyatra in Srinagar on April 30. It is pertinent to mention here that Srishti is a marketer by profession who has worked with prominent brands in the field. Prior to establishing CrossBow Miles, Srishti led brand innovation, strategy, communication and business planning with Otterbox Hong Kong. |
