Udhampur wrestler lifts 57th Amar Nath dangal title

Katra, May 8: Pahalwan Ajay Sharma of Landen Power House, Udhampur Patha Vijay Singh (Biju) lifted 57th annual Amar Nath Dangal Title 2018 by defeating Wrestler Muneer Khan of Nagrota, Jammu in a very tough fight for the first malli bout that lasted for 19 minutes at Subash Stadium Udhampur.
Dangal was organized by Amar Nath Maha Dangal Samiti in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of chairman Amar Nath Maha Dangal Samiti Gita Devi D/o Late Amar Nath Pujari and General Secretary District Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Association Om Parkash Verma.
ARTO Udhampur Kuldeep Singh was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runner-up wrestlers.
D.S.P Udhampur Kameshwar Puri, SHO Udhampur Sanjeev Gupta, Social Activist and Wrestling Promoter Ram Paul Sharma and Advocate Swantanter Dev Kotwal were the guests of honour. In all 31 bouts were played in the one day long historic and famous Dangal which was organized in the memory of Late Shri Amar Nath Pujari of Udhampur.
Winner of 1st malli bout wrestler Ajay Sharma was cash awarded with Rs. 6,000/- along with traditional "Gurj (Gadda) and Patta" by chief Guest ARTO Udhampur Kuldeep Singh, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Gita Devi and Ram Paul Sharma while runner-up Wrestler Muneer Khan was cash awarded with Rs. 5,000/- by Swantanter Dev Kotwal and Sanjeev Gupta. The second main bout was won by Gopal Sharma of Jindrah who defeated Laikat Ali of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu, 3rd bout was won by Murad Ali of Domana Akhara Jammu who defeated Mustaba Kamal (Bablu) of Basantgarh and 4th bout was won by Vijay of Bai Bajaltha who defeated Shotu of Jindrah.
Amar Nath Maha Dangal Samiti members and Technical officials who helped for the smooth conduct of Dangal in a very fine way were Mrs. Gita Devi (Chairman), Ram Rattan, Sansar Chand, Yash Kumar, Ranjeet Kumar, Shiva Kumar, Sugam Suntal, Rakesh Kumar, Ramneek Sharma, Swantanter Dev Kotwal, Om Parkash Verma, Deepak Anand), Hans Raj Thakur and Ashok Kumar Magotra.
