Not representing Jammu rightly suicidal for BJP
R.B. Suri5/10/2018 10:22:37 PM
Due to Modi wave in the country in 2014 against the misrule of UPA-II led by the then Prime Minister of the country Dr. Manmohan Singh who ruled the country for more than 10 years, BJP in the state of Jammu and Kashmir succeeded in securing 25 MLA seats in the J&K legislative Assembly in the last assembly elections held in 2014. It got the mandate of the people of the entire Jammu region whole heartedly in fetching 25 MLA seats out of 37 seats constituting percent. Whereas due to the misdeeds and of mishandling of affairs of the state by the former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, PDP in the state of Jammu and Kashmir succeeded in securing 28 MLA seats in the J&K legislative Assembly constituting percent in the state . PDP got the mandate of the people from Kashmir Division. The former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed was a farsighted political personality of the country who remained as the Home Minister of the country under VP Singh's cabinet as also as the Chief Minister of the state from 2002 to 2005. Since he formed the government in the state in alliance with INC, he remained as the Chief Minister of the state for three years from 2002 to 2005 and after it, he was succeeded by Ghulam Nabi Azad as per the agreed formula before stitching the alliance. After the J&K legislative Assembly elections in 2014, he extended his hand of friendship with BJP and trusted on PM Modi for the reason only that he represents 125 crores of people of the country and after having signed the Agenda of Alliance(AoA) became the Chief Minister of the state once again and remained on the seat of power until his death on January 20. As a Coalition partner of PDP, BJP for the 1st time in the political history of the state, came to power only otherwise it always in the opposition. Power lust is such a thing that it spoils the character and the base, of course, of the party concerned. Something wrong happened with the saffron party which has already had shown its colours. BJP Ministers are playing the double role in respect of Article 370 and article 35A of the Indian Constitution which need immediate attention of the readers on top priority . Actually they are not deceiving only the masses particularly but they are deceiving themselves at the cost of the nation also and ultimately they will reach at the stage from where no return would be possible.
No doubt, BJP got the mandate from the Jammu region but it is a hard fact that since it had not adopted the right approach in dealing with grave problems of the Jammuites in general, it has lost its credibility and the honour and could not yield anything positive during the last three years and instead it went on keeping Mehbooba Mufti in good humour just for the lust of power only. When Sunjwan Army Camp in Jammu was attacked by the PAK terrorists it was only the Speaker of the J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta spoke a few words about the suspicion of the involvement of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in this episode and rest all others did not utter any word which is shame on their part. At the same time, it is worth mentionable here that the former deputy Chief Minister of the state Dr. Nirmal Singh spoke a few words about the deportation of the Rohingyas and Bangladeshis and that too coming out of the Mehbooba's cabinet. Now the question arises as to why he kept mum when he was in power ? It was shame for him at least.
It is important to mention here that the moment BJP shook its hands with PDP just for te sake of power in the state, its thinking in representing Jammu in the earnest changed altogether as it totally compromised with PDP resulting which Jammu people had fought their struggle on their own in the matters of AIIMS, CUJ, IIM, TAWI LAKE, etc. etc. There are several other issues also pertaining to the past for which the Jammuites on their own fought for the cause in getting the REC and GMC for Jammu. In these matters, BJP role was to the least extent. It is very much relevant to mention here that J&K HC BAJ, JCCI , Civil Society and other Trade and Business organizations of Jammu played their roles magnificently ( minus BJP )
It is very much premature at the moment to forecast as to what will be the party position in the J&K Legislative Assembly when the elections would be held in 2020. Political Analysts and the columnists who are minutely watching the political scenario of the state with great concern have opined that whenever the elections in the state would be conducted, no political party would be enjoying the absolute majority and following will be the party wise position in the J&K Legislative Assembly in 2020:-
Fetch MLA seats ranging from
BJP 4 - 6
PDP 14 -16
NC 22 -24
INC 23 -24
NPP 4 - 5
PDF 1 - 1
CPI M 1 - 1
INDEPENDENTS 4 - 5
OTHERS 14 -15
PDP and BJP are bound to loose much as their Coalition Government in the state remained a total failure on all the fronts resulting which there is every likely hood that this time, there will be sizeable number of the Independent candidates who will secure the mandate of the Jammu and Kashmir regions because of the fact that Hurriyat group will likely to float its candidates as Independents for the ensuing assembly elections in the state in 2020. Also pertinent to mention here that BJP was very much responsible for the great mistake which it has done against the integrity and the sovereignty of the nation thereby granting the amnesty to the stone pelters en block (more than 9500) in the valley and subsequently withdrawing all the cases against them in the various police stations and various court fore in the valley. BJP can't skip from it as it was very much there in the Mehbooba's cabinet as part and parcel of this bad decision in the cabinet. These stone pelters were the youth who always attacked the Army/ security forces of the country every now and then and took their precious lives. It is very much relevant here that the former DGP of our state Kuldeep Khoda in an interview with Ravinder Koul under programme 'Guftogoo' stated that during his time, J&K Police managed the affairs of the state and maintaining the law and order well and the stone pelters were dealt with sternly under the law of the land and no such amnesty was granted to them at that time. According to him, there is no doubt that some stone pelters were released then and that too on the selective basis and especially against whom no case was pending before in any court in the valley but it surprising that the amnesty stands granted to the stone pelters en block without foreseeing the repercussions by this act of the State Government.
At the same time, Khoda further stated that there should be only a 'Single Authority' to deal with the situation as the multi agency approach and the decision making process had led the state to this grave stage which is very much unfortunate. He was of the firm opinion that certainly 'Single Authority' in deciding the issues independently would deliver the goods to the nation and the state as well.
Not only this the Deputy Chief minister of the state Kavinder Gupta( former Speaker) described the Rassana rape and murder case as the minor episode when the people at large in the country are demanding justice to the family of the victim. Due to the continuance of BJP in alliance with PDP since 2015 in running the state as a Coalition Government thereby sidelining the Jammuites totally as also not representing them in the right earnest would go definitely "SUICIDAL" for it resulting which it would draw a big zero in the ensuing assembly elections in 2020 or at the most it may fetch only 4-5 MLA seats in the next assembly elections.
