Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 10: As the state government has failed to fulfill the genuine demands of employees of municipal committees (MCs) employees of all municipal bodies are left with no option other than to stop sanitation and other services in all towns of Kashmir division, said President JKULBEUF Manzoor Ahmad Pampori. A spokesperson of the forum said that the employees belonging to all categories of municipal bodies including Safai Karamcharis held protest demonstration today under the banner of JKULBEUF to press the government to fulfill their genuine demands. The President JKULBEUF said that since the government has implemented the revised pay rules in respect of all the state employees, the same have not been applied in respect of employees of Municipal Councils/Committees, resulting which the employees are facing tremendous destitution and have unanimously demanded the orders of devolution released on the previous rates shall be amended immediately and the additional funds to meet the expenditure on account of enhanced pay shall be released forthwith without any delay. Pampori while talking to early times said that the forum has already discussed the issue with the authorities in the directorate, who have initially assured the revised pay structure will be implemented and the salary of employees for the month of April will be released accordingly. "However on contrary to the assurances given to the employees and in violation of SRO 193, the directorate has arbitrarily released the devolution to all MCs on April 9, on the previous rates, thus leaving no scope for MCs to implement the seventh pay commission in consonance with the government instructions", Pampori said. He said the employees of ULBs especially the sweepers have been performing their duties with full dedication and punctuality despite all odds and trying circumstances, but at the same time the authorities are exhibiting indifferent attitude towards the issues of these poor employees". "There are many issues of employees which have been deliberately kept unaddressed by the authorities for unknown reasons. These include implementation of seventh pay commission, regularization of SPW/DRWs of MCs, settlements of pension cases of the pensioners, conduction of DPC at the directorate/ state level, replacement of the existing accounts officer with a suitable substitute officer of good integrity," said Pampori. |
