| Govt changes office timing in Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, May 14: On the recommendations of district administration, the State government has ordered that all the government offices including schools in Rajouri district shall function between 9 am and 3 pm instead 8 am to 2 pm.
The decision was taken reportedly after several representations to DDC by the people of far off areas who find government offices closed at 2 pm.
More than 80 percent population of Rajouri district lives in about 380 villages mostly situated in far flung areas and near the Line of Control where public transport is not easily available.
It takes several hours to reach Rajouri headquarters and many times people face problems when they find the offices about to close at 2 pm.
On the request of the people the matter was taken up with the State Government by the DDC and in a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister today, the government has decided to change office timing in Rajouri district from 8 am to 3pm from May 16 onwards.
All government offices including schools in Rajouri district shall observe official timing of 9 am to 3 pm from May 16. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister. Now it is the duty of the officers to implement the order and attendance will be checked from May 16 onwards, informed Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhry, DDC. |
