5/19/2018 12:04:49 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, May 18: Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for doing nothing to end discrimination with Jammu region.
Addressing a press conference here, Shri Ram Sena State President, Rajiv Mahajan said that under Coalition Government especially partnered with BJP Jammu region is witnessing discrimination which was never been seen in last seventy years.
He said that the general public including traders, businessmen, farmers, unemployed, families of the martyrs, border residents besides daily wagers, casual workers, contractual lecturers, etc .had been bearing the brunt of the discrimination in all spheres.
"For over six decades, the BJP had been exploiting the Jammu sentiment by crying hoarse over the so-called discrimination, deprivation and neglect but when it came to delivering, they just raised their hands", he said adding that not only the BJP pushed the region to backwards but also turned out as a big obstacle in its development and progress. Mahajan said that the people of Jammu are feeling let down and betrayed, as their problems are accumulating with each passing day.
Mahajan adding further said that it is unfortunate to note that even Print Media of Jammu has been badly discriminated for the last five years. Quoting figures, Mahajan said that nearly 1948 advertisements meant to be released for Jammu Print media was diverted to Kashmir and nearly 797 advertisements meant for Kashmir was diverted to Jammu.
He urged the newly made Deputy Chief Minister of State Kavinder Gupta to take serious cognizance of this discrimination with Jammu as it has badly demoralized the morale of Jammu based editors.
He even went to the extent of saying that Jammu considers Dy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta as Chief Minister of Jammu as Jammu region has given mandate to BJP and Kashmir region has given mandate to PDP. He maintained that PDP is doing much better in Kashmir by responding to mandate given to it but BJP has miserably failed to respect the mandate given to it in Jammu region.
Mahajan further said that Dy CM must make a round to other departments to have firsthand knowledge of discrimination with Jammu for the last three years. He also reminded the newly appointed BJP State Chief Ravinder Raina that his action should speak louder than his words and he should on priority address the discrimination issue with Jammu. He warned the government from now onwards ensure equitable distribution of funds unlike in the past which was 90:10 ratio in which Kashmir was getting 90% funds and Jammu was getting meagre 10 % funds.
