Early Times Report

Vijaypur, May 19: Residents of Upper Lovely village in Utterbehni area of district Samba are forced to drink contaminated water from the pond as there is no PHE water to the village for the last one month.
The shortage of drinking water in this village is so acute that the villagers have no other option but to drink water from a pond situated in the village which is contaminated and the green algae is visible on its surface.
An elderly man of the village said that they are facing huge shortage of drinking water as the PHE supply lines were lying defunct for the past one month. He alleged that the PHE employees hardly visit the station and on being questioned, say that motor was out of order.
This apathetic attitude of the PHE authorities has made over seventy families to face acute shortage of potable drinking water in top summer.
Although villagers lodged many protest against PHE Department and local administration for their apathetic attitude, but till date nothing has been done.
