Early Times Report

Kathua, May 19: The prosecution has come under scanner in the infamous Rassana rape and murder case yet again when the Apex court order of shifting the case to Pathankot was not presented in the Kathua court hearing the case.
On Saturday Sanjhi Ram, the main accused of the case, and 6 others were presented in the court of District Principal Sessions Judge Kathua. The accused again demanded CBI probe. While talking to Media Persons in the court complex, Sanjhi Ram, the main accused said the case is being lingered on as it was not shifted to District session court Pathankot even today. "There must be hidden motive behind not producing the supreme court's order copy at Kathua Court" he averred. He further said that the case was transferred out of state and lawyers of the other party (Victim)took security for themselves, but so far the order of transferring the case to Pathankot has not been passed to the Kathua Court. He said that on one hand. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti says that the hearing of the case should be fast tracked, but on the other hand, the Supreme Court order to shift the case to Pathankot Court has not reached the Kathua Court. The counsel for the accused A.K Shawney said that he does not think the order of the Supreme Court will reach the Kathua court within the next 10 days. In such a case, it is clear that the accused in the case are being tortured.
