Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 21: Vigilance Organization Kashmir today registered a case former Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Boniyar withdrawing excess funds STs students from CEO Baramulla. According to sources, a case FIR No 21/2018 U/S 5(1) (c) 5(1) d, r/w 5(2) J&K P.C. Act Svt. 2006 & section 201, 120-B, RPC. The registration of the instant case is the outcome of a verification conducted by this organisation which looked into the allegations of Fraud/embezzlement in scholarship funds of Pahari speaking/Gujjar Bakarwal students in education department zone Boniyar of District Baramulla during the financial year 2009-10. The enquiry revealed the then Zonal Education officer zone Boniyar Sakina Akhter in connivance with the then dealing assistant namely, Irshad Ahmad Dar and others under a well knit conspiracy have fraudulently and dishonestly inflated the figures of Gujjar Bakerwal and Pahari speaking students, obtained excess funds from CEO Baramulla on account of scholarship and later on by fudging/misplacing the records besides disbursing the scholarships only to actual number of beneficiaries, thereby misappropriating the excess funds. Thus by abuse of her official position, ZEO Boniyar in connivance with the then dealing assistant and others misappropriated the Govt. money meant for scholarship and caused loss to the state exchequer. Accordingly a Case has been registered in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir and the Investigation of the case is going on. |
