Early Times Report

Jammu, May 23: A nexus between Regional Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Jammu and a private player has been exposed after the latter managed to access personal information of the candidates enrolled with the centre.
If sources are to be believed, authorities at the helm of affairs in the Regional Centre of IGNOU Jammu have supplied the personal information of all the candidates enrolled with it to ZIGMA book centre.
After getting the information of enrolled candidates, officials of ZIGMA book centre lure the candidates for filling examination and re-examinations forms for which they are not authorized.
"After getting all the details including contact numbers and details of courses in which the candidates have been enrolled, employees of the ZIGMA book centre send messages and even make calls to candidates and press them for filling examination and re-examination forms, purchasing of books from them", said a source, adding that whenever a candidate visits their centre they also force them for purchasing 'readymade' assignments from them.
Officials of the ZIGMA book centre used to force the candidates to fill examination forms and purchase books and readymade assignments from them, maintained sources.
Sources further claimed that ZIGMA book centre is not authorized to fill examination, re-examination forms and they are only authorized to sell IGNOU books at their centre.
Acting Regional Director IGNOU Centre Jammu, Vikram Singh when contacted by Early Times said that he has received verbal complainants in this regard but nobody came with written complaint.
He however said he will conduct inquiry in this regard, adding that "whosoever found guilty would be punished as per law."
