DC Kishtwar dares to monitor works executed by CDF/MPLAD funds

Kishtwar, May 24: In a significant development to check misuse of CDF & MPLAD funds worth Crores of rupees at the disposal of MLAs, MLCs & MPs, District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana today constituted committees to verify the execution of works for which funds worth crores are being released every year.
As per the details available with Early Times, Rs. 5 Crores/year MPLAD funds at the disposal of Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha MPs while Rs. 3 Crores /year at the disposal of MLAs and MLCs are allegedly being misused on the name of development.
It was disclosed that 13 committees have been constituted for the purpose and each committee is headed by a senior level Officer .
"The block level verification committees shall verify the works executed during the year 2015-16 and 2016-17 under MPLAD/CDF and submit the report to the DC regarding the execution and quality of works" the order stated.
Moreover the officers shall report whether the execution of the work have caused any impact in the development of community of that area or not. The committees shall ensure the submission of the verification report by or before 20th of June 2018.
It is pertinent to mention that Crores of CDF/MPLADs have been spent in Kishtwar District and even non local MLCs from Jammu provided CDF in far flung areas of Kishtwar District including Marwah and Warwan which is said to be in violation of the rules and regulations.
