Early Times Report

Srinagar, May 24: After 'Early Times' report, authorities at Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Srinagar finally authenticated the list of casual workers on Wednesday.
However the officials at the primer health institute have 'deliberately' submitted information to the government to apparently delay the process of regularization of genuine workers. Hospital sources privy to the development revealed that after ET report, Director SKIMS asked his sub-ordinate officials to submit the requisite information to the government regarding the casual employees who had also threatened to stage protests in case the information sought by the government wasn't submitted and the their list wasn't authenticated.
Fallowing Director's direction, SKIMS officials responsible for scrutinizing the casual laborers list finally authenticated the list of 179 employees instead of 310 and forwarded same to the government. However, sources revealed that the information forwarded to government is insufficient and doesn't have proper wage statements, education qualification and first appointment details of the workers.
"They did deliberately to delay the process of regularizations of these employees," they said.
A delegation of SKIMS Casual Employees union also visited civil secretariat today and found the information forwarded to the government was incomplete. They requested Director SKIMS and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to look into the issue and take action against the officer who creates hiccups for their regularization.
"They (Officer) create hiccups to delay the process as they want to adjust 131 causal employees whose names were inserted illegally into the list," a casual employee, who fallows the case on behalf of his colleagues, said.
Director SKIMS, Dr Omer Javed Shah had earlier assured that he look into the issue.
