Kishtwar, May 26: Taking a strong note of the reports of poor functioning of lift water supply scheme in District Kishtwar, Deputy Commisoner Angrez Singh Rana today ordered an indepth enquiry into the non -functioning of water lift supply Scheme to be conducted by ADDC Kishtwar.
During the summer season Kishtwar town and Mandal area face shortage of water.
The DC visited and inspected the lift water supply scheme and found that the lifts are not working and the water being pumped is not pumped upward flow.

Meanwhile, keeping in view the negligence of the staff posted for the proper working and functioning of the lifts, the Additional District Development Commissioner is directed to conduct an indepth enquiry into the matter and recommend the penalties against the erring officers/officials if found any for committing negligence in performing their legitimate duties under rule 128 of CSR. The enquiry officer shall submit report by or before 5th of June 2018. It is pertinent to mention that in an open loot and misuse of government exchequer, the hydraulic division Kishtwar had spent Rs. 1.85 Crore on repair/augmentation of HRT lift water supply scheme while Rs. 315183 were spent on the name of permanent restoration of Gravity Main of Naigard , Lalha Water Supply Kishtwar town and WSS Palmar, but despite spending such huge amount on the said water supply scheme within few years of its commission has raised several doubts on the utilization of these funds as Kishtwar town and its vicinity is continuously facing the water crises on daily bases.

Beside this an amount worth lakhs of rupees had been withdrawn on account of tanker services which itself is a mass scale nexus in the department wherein the officer concern has diverted the water tax collection money for the payments made to private tanker owners.
