KPS condemns dismantling of Dharamshalls in Trehgam
6/6/2018 11:26:06 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 6: Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) condemned dismantling of Dharamshalla Rooms situated at Trehgam, Nagbal, District Kupwara by Government agencies.
According to press release a meeting under the Chairmanship of its President K K Khosa, the Sabha has taken strong notice of the dismantling of Dharamshalla Rooms situated at Trehgam.
"No one from the community has been taken into confidence before indulging in this illegal and highly deplorable act which has hurt the sentiments of the exiled community. Inspite of the fact that the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned District is supposed to be the custodian of all the properties, both public as well as private which belong to be Kashmiri Pandits, it is a matter of grave concern that the administration is indulging in such acts", he said. He further said that on the one hand the State Govt. has been repeatedly trumpeting that it is working sincerely for the return and rehabilitation of the community back in the valley but such acts negate these assertions thereby damaging its creditability.
KPS appealed to the Chief Minister to kindly take cognizance of this sad episode and institute an enquiry at once. It is also appealed that further activity in this regard should be put on hold forthwith so that the public property is saved from irreversible damage. The Sabha also requests that the guilty should be brought to book so that it sets an example for others to dissuade from tinkering with forlorn and unattended public property belonging to the community.
