Army, SOG conduct searches around Rajouri
6/8/2018 11:42:14 PM
Early Times Report

Rajouri, June 8: After inputs of presence of some suspicious armed unidentified persons within a radius of 20 kilometer of Rajouri district headquarters, army, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Rajouri police launched searches morning today.
The search operation was jointly conducted by Rashtriya Rifle Units and SOG team of Rajouri police in Agrati, Plulian etc areas.
Reliable sources said that the search operation was launched after inputs of presence of 5-6 suspicious persons carrying arms and their movement was reported towards Nagoon village under Rajouri police station.
The area searched was a traditional route used by the militants after crossing the LoC from PB sector (from the camps situated in Kotli area in PoK) when the militancy was at its peak for their forward journey to Reasi district or to Kashmir valley.
Recently, during two days visit of Home Minister to J&K, intelligence inputs have warned about possible infiltration bids by the terrorists (about 450) being trained and camping at launching pads across the LoC in PoK.
Reliable sources further said during next few weeks these trained militants may attempt to enter Indian soil from Rajouri-Poonch districts for their further movement to Kashmir valley.
On March 28 four terrorists were killed by the army near Sunderbani town after they had crossed the LoC from Sunderbani sector and were planning to strike in the area.
The search operation was suspended in the late evening after the presence of suspected was not traced and may be resumed in another area.
